The first useful trucks were in the 1920's. they could only haul a couple of thounsand pound but it was an improvement for horse drawn wagon and alot more effective in delivering supplies. These Trucks were fitted with solid rubber tires. In 1928 the first volvo truck that came off the line wasshaft driven, had pneumatic tires, and had an enclosed cab.
